Honoring Dr. King Through Art + Action

For the past five years, Walls for Justice has celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. Day by turning service into a living practice. Each year, we honor Dr. King’s legacy by showing up where creativity, care, and community are needed most. While MLK Day is one moment of service, it’s also a reminder that building a more just world is daily work—work that sits at the heart of our mission.

This year, we’re proud to partner with Kensington Health Sciences Academy, where ninth-grade students have been meeting with us weekly to design a powerful MLK Day project. Together, we’re creating two new murals inside the school, shaped by the students’ ideas, voices, and vision for their community.

Through color, collaboration, and creativity, we’re continuing Dr. King’s call to serve—and empowering young people to lead the way.
