Whats On Her Mind

Artist Statement:

Ziania is a Philly based, first-generation Mexican American artist from South Texas. Her personal artwork is often a form of self-care and a means to photograph her emotions or memories. She often draws inspiration from loved ones, outdoor walks and peers. It is a means to embrace her own relationship with femininity so she often paints women.

About Workshop :

This collage painting with parachute cloth started as a way to repurpose otherwise discarded material and reframe her struggles with overthinking or intruding thoughts. While there may be repeating patterns, thoughts can shift, morph, reappear and disappear. With this work Ziania invites others to both rearrange the pieces and  create new ones. Lately she's chosen to water her flowers for some butterflies to land on as the planets continue to orbit in space. What do you want to hold space for?
