ACE Mentor Program Build Day Mural – Philadelphia

Walls for Justice partnered with the ACE Mentor Program of Philadelphia to plan and lead a hands-on build day at Houseman Recreation Center, where students learned about muralism alongside principles of architecture, construction, and engineering. The project gave participants a unique opportunity to explore how creative design and technical skills come together to improve public spaces.

Students worked collaboratively to help beautify the recreation center while gaining real-world experience in planning and executing a public art project. Through the process, participants developed practical skills, creative confidence, and a deeper understanding of how art and the built environment can work together to strengthen communities.
