Kenderton Elementary MLK Day Mural – Philadelphia
Walls for Justice partnered with Kenderton Elementary School to lead a Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service mural project focused on beautifying one of the school’s main community gathering spaces — the auditorium.
Students, volunteers, and community members came together through service and creativity to transform the space into a more welcoming and inspiring environment. The mural project honored the spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by encouraging participants to give back to their community through collective action and artistic expression.
By working together to improve a shared space, participants experienced the power of service, teamwork, and creative expression while strengthening pride and connection within the school community.
This project demonstrates how Walls for Justice uses art as a tool for service and community-building while creating lasting improvements in schools and neighborhoods.
