Morton McMichael School Service Learning Mural – Philadelphia
Students at Morton McMichael School invited Walls for Justice to partner with them on a service-learning mural project after writing a letter to their principal requesting the opportunity to improve their school through art.
Walls for Justice worked with students to transform their ideas into a collaborative mural project that emphasized service, creativity, and student leadership. Through the process, students participated in hands-on painting and learned how art can be used as a tool to give back to their community.
The project empowered students to take initiative and make a positive impact in their school environment while demonstrating the power of youth voice and service-based learning. The completed mural stands as a lasting reminder of what students can accomplish when they work together to improve their community.
