A Canvas of Community: ShopRite’s New Mural Celebrates Local Culture and Connection

This project, a collaborative effort between Walls for Justice and Olney Culture Lab, features designs inspired by the artwork of local students and the creative visions of neighborhood-raised artists Jamee Grigsby and Sam Rodriguez.

The mural, a cornerstone of ShopRite's recent renovations, was shaped through community sessions hosted by WFJ, gathering insights that reflect the rich cultural tapestry of the area. Both artists, whose families have shopped at this store for generations, infused the artwork with personal and communal narratives, creating a space that resonates with shoppers and celebrates the store's role in the community.
